Classical Conversations Cycle 1 Two-Page Weekly Planner

As we prepare for curriculum choices, book lists, and general scheduling for next year, I just wanted to share what I've put together thus far for our Cycle 1 Planner, to be used with the Foundations Guide 4th Edition from Classical Conversations.  (Without the guide, this planner will not be of much use to you!)

Cycle 1 Two-Page Planner

This one also includes some simple pages to record curriculum choices, yearly objectives, and book lists to coincide with our memory work.

Though I've proofread it, I sometimes have trouble picking up errors in my own work.  If any of you great CC'ers want to proofread it for me and let me know of any typos or errors, I would be grateful (since I was half-asleep when I finished it).

Thus far, I only have the two-page planner available, which is meant to be printed duplex-style (on both sides).  I will update the one-page planner at a later date, so stay tuned.

To download a copy of the Cycle 1 Planner:

Cycle 1 Planner XLS version

This planner has been updated with 4th Edition revisions, but I have not included the timeline, since both timelines (whether you're using the old one or the new one!) are copyrighted by Veritas Press and Classical Conversations.  For a list of all the Foundations Guide 4th Edition changes, click here.

Also be sure to download a yearly school calendar from Calendar Labs to include in your planner!

  5. Brandy, "Thank You" doesn't seem like enough. With next fall being our first experience with CC, I have been a little nervous about planning. Your blog and all the resources you share have been such a blessing to me! You have given me such peace & hope for a successful year! I haven't been to the practicum yet, so I know that will help the butterflies, too. :) Thank You! Blessings to you.

  8. This is my first year with CC with my 4yo daughter - we are so excited!! Another CC mom found your planner last year, and now many of us are having them spiral bound - it's only about $3.50 at our Office Depot! I do have a quick question, though. The alignment is a bit off for binding - is there a way I can easily adjust the margin on the xls to be wider on the inside of opposing pages? I can't seem to find an easy way to do "all even" or "all odd" pages - maybe I just need to do each one individually.

Thank you so much for all your beautiful and helpful work!

  9. Hi Carrie! Assuming that you are talking about the two-page planner? I'm not sure why Excel does that. Even though the columns have been aligned so that each day has equivalent space and the margins are supposed to be the same with the spreadsheet centered horizontally and vertically, it still shifts it over some. The only way I am able to adjust it (without making the days different sizes) is by reducing the column widths across the entire sheet and the "Next presentation" line. I have adjusted it but I am still not sure if it will meet your needs. We can hash it out over email if you email me directly at brandyferrell at yahoo dot com. I'll email you the copy I just reformatted to see if it is what you need.

An easy way to adjust several worksheets at once in Excel is to select all the sheets by hitting the shift or control key while you click on them. Then when you make adjustments to one worksheet, all the rest will be adjusted as well. :)
