Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood is a personal blog written and edited by Brandy Ferrell, the blog owner. This blog accepts forms of compensation in the form of products and affiliate commissions.
The purpose of Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood is to chronicle our homeschooling journey, our 50-states-before-they-graduate mission, and our funny farm & Be Real antics while providing other families free educational printables, helpful tips and resources, encouragement to other homeschooling families, and support for Classical Conversations and/or Classical Education. Because our family was in a fortunate and blessed position to not need the extra income from any of my creations when we started this blog, we decided as a family to offer our resources and printables as a ministry to other homeschooling families. Supporting other families in their homeschooling endeavors is one of the few ways I can minister to others at this point in my life. It gives me great joy to share my work and to make this small offering of myself… all for the Glory of God.
However, as time has progressed, this site has grown beyond what I ever thought it would. In the process of creating printables and blogging, I put a lot of effort [and time] into this website. There are several costs associated with running this website: software, server & hosting fees, and technical support, to name a few. Because these are expenses that we incur as a result of sharing things for free, we now receive a small affiliate commission from some of the companies whose products we use. The money received from affiliate links does not cost you anything but helps to offset the costs associated with running this website. My website will continue to be free to use, as will all of the printables that I make.
Our family is now hoping to use my affiliate partnerships and Usborne consulting business to fulfill this dream I have for our family to be together throughout the year. If you use our affiliate links, thank you for helping my dream to come true.
We invest much of what we have made on this blog into charities. For those who use our affiliate links, thank you. We would like you to read about what you’ve made possible.
When I write reviews, I usually receive the product for free. However, any reviews and information I share is based on our own personal use of the product and not from the company being reviewed. I will not promote a product we have not personally used. I maintain affiliate relationships with companies offering products that my family and I have found useful and worthy of promoting. Vendors with whom I have an affiliate relationship may be found under the “Support Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood by shopping at…” section on my blog’s sidebar. I am very selective about who is under this heading and do not maintain affiliate relationships with products we do not like or use. These are vendors whose products our family has used and wholeheartedly recommends to others. As part of this affiliate relationship, I receive a commission on the sales generated through click-throughs of affiliate links. Blog posts containing affiliate links will be identified with a disclosure at the conclusion of the post.
The views and opinions expressed on Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood are purely my own. I only endorse products or services that I believe are worthy of my family’s endorsement. I do not claim to be an expert on any certain topics or products or service areas. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.
It is important to me that you know I would never be dishonest to make money. My family and my readers are important to me, and I strive to adhere to the utmost integrity on this website. I do not charge for giveaways and do not run sponsored posts (i.e., content that someone has paid me to post) on my site. Your trust is extremely important to me, and I do not ever want to do anything that would work against that trust.
I only do two types of reviews
Non-Compensated Reviews: I have received, at no cost to me, personal use of the product, service, or website being reviewed for the purpose of evaluation or review. I am not compensated monetarily to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics.
Personal Reviews: I have received neither financial compensation nor free use of the product or service. Rather, personal reviews are for products and/or services that my family has purchased for our own use.
Regardless of whether a review is non-compensated or personal, I always give my honest opinions and experiences. I am never required to give a positive review of any product, service or website.
