Sightseeing Valley Forge & Gettysburg {50 States}

I receive commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Please see our full disclosure policy for more details. Thank you for supporting Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood through your purchases.

…continuing through Pennsylvania! State #14 of 50-States-Before-They-Graduate. For our Mid-Eastern States Itinerary click here.

We continue our trip through Pennsylvania with drive-thru sightseeing tours of Valley Forge and Gettysburg…

Note:  Pennsylvania has these interstates that are super-long toll roads.  No problem except if you don’t have a pass, you can only get off at certain exits.  So… when the GPS takes you to an overpass and says, “You have arrived at your destination,” as you pass underneath the road you need to be on… and then you have to keep driving and driving and driving…

All I’m going to say is, do NOT trust the GPS.  She has no idea what she’s talking about.  We used the old-fashioned map way to find Valley Forge.

I don’t have much to say about this part of our trip, except both of these parks were absolutely amazing. It’s a thrill to see first-hand what we have read so much about…

Our family aims to visit all 50 states together before our boys graduate from high school.  To take a look at some of the places we’ve been, visit our Traveling America posts.  Feel free to leave your comments and suggestions for your favorite state(s), or virtually visit the other states we’ve visited to offer your recommendations on those pages!  We’d love to read about your own family’s adventures… or to simply know about destinations you’ve enjoyed!
